Dear Eizor Galil,
Well, Channukah is over and the New Year is upon us. 2007 will surely hold some great things in store for us and we look forward to sharing some time with you during the next year. As our own new year's resolution, we will make sure each Eizor event is better than ever and that you and your children will appreciate each one all the more!

1. Martin Luther King Day of Service on Sunday, January 14
Every year Habonim Dror Eizor Galil participates in the Martin Luther King Day of Service at the Haverford School, helping to run a carnival for members of the Variety Club. The Variety Club is an organization for mentally and physically disabled children to have fun and meaningful programming run for them. This is a continuing tradition and we hope to see many Habonim Dror Eizor Galil members come to it!

2. Peulat Shichvah on Sunday, January 28
For our first peulat shichvah of 2007, we would like to invite each shichvah to the Germantown Jewish Centre in the afternoon of Sunday, January 28. For the next few months we will be using GJC as a central location to meet for peulot and Eizor events so get excited!!

Hadag Nachash, one of the most successful and influential hip-hop bands from Israel will be leading a workshop for educators and teen professionals in the Philadelphia community who wish to explore the ways in which the current Israeli Cultural Esperience in general, and music in particular, can be brought into the educational process of shaping a Jewish Identity and "Ahavat Yisrael." The program will include open discussion with the band on their art, its use in educational settings, and a presentation of educational tools. Lunch will be served.

America's national Programs Director, Michael Kanter, will be coming to Eizor Galil to meet
with parents and interested chanichim to discuss the MBI and Workshop programs.

December 13. The MBI meeting will be from 7-8 PM and the Workshop meeting from 8-9
PM.

Every year Habonim Dror Eizor Galil participates in the Martin Luther King Day of Service at the Haverford School, helping to run a carnival for members of the Variety Club. The Variety Club is an organization for mentally and physically disabled children to have fun and meaningful programming run for them. This is a continuing tradition and we hope to see many Habonim Dror Eizor Galil members come to it!
After a long weekend filled with traveling, seeing family and, most importantly, eating, we are back with your weekly newsletter of the goings-on in Eizor Galil. The next few weeks are sure to be very exciting, especially with Hadag Nachash, the Israeli hip-hop band coming to town.

2. MBI/Workshop Meeting Date
Want to know more about the MBI and Workshop programs? Habonim Dror North America's national Programs Director, Michael Kanter, will be coming to Eizor Galil to meet with parents and interested chanichim to discuss the MBI and Workshop programs.
Both meetings will be happening at the same place on the same night. The MBI meeting will be from 7-8 PM and the Workshop meeting from 8-9 PM.

3. Professional Development Workshop with Hadag Nachash
Hadag Nachash, one of the most successful and influential hip-hop bands from Israel will be leading a workshop for educators and teen professionals in the Philadelphia community who wish to explore the ways in which the current Israeli Cultural Esperience in general, and music in particular, can be brought into the educational process of shaping a Jewish Identity and "Ahavat Yisrael." The program will include open discussion with the band on their art, its use in educational settings, and a presentation of educational tools. Lunch will be served.
The program will take place on Friday, December 15, 12:00-2:00 PM at Gratz College (7605 Old York Rd., Melrose Park, PA 19027)

4. Amelim - Sayarim Channukah Bowling Party On!!!
Amelim, Chotrim, and Sayarim are invited to a Channukah Bowling Party on Saturday evening, December 16. The party will most likely be between 6-8 PM but we will give you more information as soon as we know it. This is a great opportunity for you and your friends to get together and light the channukah candles. Come join us!

6. Hadag Nachash Concert on December 17
Registration for the Hadag Nachash concert on December 17 is now open! Tzofim and up (8th grade and above) are invited and encouraged to attend the concert. Our very own Jenny Smolen and Anna Yankelev are helping with the planning so come out to support their work.
